Are you looking to disconnect from the city and make the most of your wilderness experience with our add-on activities?

There’s lots to do when staying at our BC guest ranch, both on-site and off-site, guided and self-guided.

We offer a variety of ranch-based wilderness activities including horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, horse harness driving, heavy equipment driving, archery or bareback lessons. These activities are run by our partner, Wilderness Trails. Find out more about Wilderness Trails on our About Us page.

With our horseback riding, you can choose from a 2, 3, 4 or 5 hour or full day (~7 hours) ride. All of our rides include a one-hour saddling and riding orientation before the start of the ride to introduce you to your horse and mountain riding. You will learn about the local flora and fauna and get an introduction to the wilderness of the Chilcotin Mountains. Find out more on Wilderness Trails’ website.

Many of our ranch-based activities are suitable for kids. We offer one hour ranch-based horseback riding lessons for kids under 7. Our sure-footed mountain horses mean our trail rides are suitable for kids over 7. Give us a call at 250-238-2274 to find out what options we have for your kids!

All of our ranch-based activities need to be booked in advance to ensure availability of guides, horses and equipment.

Wilderness Trails also runs guided conservation horse pack trips or hiking trips, as well as ranch stays with full days of activities. If you want to upgrade you accommodation stay to an action-packed wilderness adventure, take a look at our Wilderness Trails website.

Prefer a more laid back vacation? There’s lots of options. Take a walk around the property with one of our dogs or even a cat accompanying you. Visit the chickens, goats or horses. Enjoy a book from our library. Join us for daily ranch chores such as collecting the eggs from the chickens, feeding the animals, chasing in the horses or letting them out on the range. We also have a secure fenced-in playground for young kids to explore.

If you want to do your own thing, there’s lots of options for that too! Ride your own horse, hike or mountain bike on the many trails that start from the ranch property – see our About Us page for more info on Bed and Bale / horse boarding. Fish or swim in nearby lakes. Visit an abandoned mining town. Learn about gold mining history.

And if you want a bit of everything, you can mix and match too – enjoy a trail ride one day on our sure-footed mountain horses, swim in Pearson Pond the next day as part of a driving tour of the area and spend your evenings feeding the animals with us.

Make your vacation in British Columbia a unique experience with these things to do.
