All our operations are focused on conservation to preserve the environment we benefit from. To minimize wildlife displacement caused by motorized vehicles, as well as limiting helicopter / float plane noise and carbon pollution in the Chilcotin Ark, we do not rent our back-country accommodations to people who wish to access them by helicopter or float plane. Getting into the back country under your own steam is the only responsible way to access this fragile alpine ecosystem. We encourage everyone to participate in citizen science through our wildlife sighting forms, conservation projects, habitat enhancement, and invasive species management initiatives. Find out more about our work through the Chilcotin Ark Institute.
Due to their remote location, guests are responsible for cleaning the cabin before they leave, such as hanging all sleeping pads, sweeping and mopping the cabin and leaving firewood for the next group. Full cleaning details are found in each cabin’s Camp Binder.
The cabins are charged on a daily, weekly or monthly rate.
Be sure to check government websites for more information about bear and cougar safetyfire banspark restrictions, and trail etiquette. The more prepared you are, the more enjoyable your experience will be.
Experience a transformational journey by challenging yourself to a daily ride, bike, fish, or ski depending on each mountain cabin’s unique location. Trails start right from the back-country hut campsite so you are always close to your next wilderness experience. With multiple horse trails starting from each camp, you can enjoy back-country horse riding based on your horse skills. Get back to basics by splitting firewood, packing pure mountain water from a nearby creek, making a campfire, and cooking outside. Enjoy the break from Wifi, cell service, and TV.
Take a look at our About Us page for more information about packing gear into our mountain camps and trail head drop-offs.

Are you looking for an adventure this summer and the opportunity to connect with nature while still working remotely?

Our summer camp steward program is a unique opportunity to contribute to conservation while working remotely in BC’s back-country. Our log cabins in the remote back country of the South Chilcotin Mountains allow you to be a wilderness steward and work remotely with the wilderness right outside your door. Being in a remote place allows you to create your own work-life balance in connection with nature and all its benefits. As a camp steward, you will complete wildlife sightings forms and grass assessments to make your contribution to the conservation of this unique ecological environment. If you require WiFi, you will need to bring a portable system such as Starlink and a generator / solar power.

For however long your break from the city needs to be, we rent our cabins on a monthly basis.
